FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Find the answers here

DO YOU OFFER FREE SHIPPING?

Yes, currently on orders of $50 or more. Bars are relatively heavy to ship, with most bars being 5oz or more each.

In order to offer free shipping all the time I would need to substantially increase the cost per bar to make up the difference. Since many of my sales are currently local or in-person, this change wouldn't benefit the majority of my customers. However, it is something I'll revisit as things change.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Credit cards or Paypal through the website, and cash or Venmo (@amie-howell-1, phone 3851) for in person purchases.

HOW LONG BEFORE MY BAR EXPIRES?

I recommend you use your bar within six months of purchase. Cold process soap doesn't expire, but eventually the colors and scent may fade.

WHY DO I NEED A WELL DRAINING SOAP DISH?

My cold process soap recipe doesn't include any preservatives, and those skin-loving oils will also soak up any water it's left to swim in.

A well draining, or raised, soap dish both removes the soap from any puddles and allows airflow to reach all the sides, allowing it to dry faster and, ultimately, last longer.

Without an adequate dish or rack, the soap will turn soft and mushy in about a day.

WHAT ARE "CALL BACK" SOAPS?

Call Backs are the bars that are best sellers and have, therefore, become permanent offerings in the shop.

WHAT IS "SOAP FOR SOUND"?

Soap for Sound bars are inspired by the different productions at CenterPoint Theater in Centerville, Utah. These are limited time offerings and all proceeds from sales go to CPT's microphone fund.

*StageRight Soaps is not affiliated with CPT, other than wanting to support their great community and productions.

YOU MADE A BAR I LOVED, BUT IT IS NO LONGER IN STOCK. WOULD YOU REMAKE A BATCH FOR ME?

Generally that's a big "YES!". As long as I am able to get the appropriate supplies and ingredients I am generally happy to remake a favorite batch as long as there's sufficient interest.

On occasion, a specific scent or colorant used in the past may no longer be in production.

DO YOU TAKE CUSTOM ORDERS?

I'm happy to talk with you about your needs to see if we're a good fit.

Custom batches come in multiples of 15 bars, and run $75 per batch (15 bars).

All custom orders require 8 weeks lead time (two weeks to source supplies if needed, and 4-6 weeks for curing).

WHY DO NEW BATCHES TAKE SO LONG?

Cold process soap takes 4-6 weeks to cure.

The curing process allows for complete saponification, any excess water to evaporate out, and the lye to become non-existent in the finished product.

Curing ultimately creates a milder, sturdier, and longer lasting bar of soap.

CAN YOU TEACH ME TO MAKE SOAP?

Due to time constraints and the potential hazard of working with lye, I don't usually do trainings. However, if you are interested in learning more about Cold Process soap making I'd recommend checking out Brambleberry's tutorials (also known as Soap Queen on YouTube) or Royalty soaps.

Soap making is an addictive, if expensive, hobby, but you do need to make sure you do some real research before diving in!
